Five-star point guard BJ Young has reportedly given a verbal commitment to Arkansas for 2011.

Young, a 6-foot-4 St. Louis product ranked by services as a top 20 overall prospect, chose the Razorbacks over Memphis, Indiana and Baylor, according to the Springfield, Mo. NBC affiliate website – KY3.com.

Young's high school career has been overshadowed by transfers and academics. His stock rose this Summer. Young led his St. Louis Gameface teammates to the quarterfinals of the 17-under National AAU Tournament.

He is a point guard who can score 30 points on any given night. Analysts say his strength is getting to the rim.

Should young make it to campus and follow through with what is currently a non-binding commitment, he’d be part of a highly ranked recruiting class. Arkansas products Hunter Mickelson and Aaron Ross have also committed for 2011. Mickelson and Ross are both Top 150 prospects nationally.
