Henderson State quarterback Nick Hardesty makes school history, becoming the first-ever Reddie to be named the GSC Offensive Player of the Year since HSU joined the league in 1993.  He is also the eighth straight quarterback to take home the honor.

Hardesty put together an impressive senior campaign, leading the Gulf South in passing (4,007 yards), passing touchdowns (30) and total offense (4,187).  The Salina, Kan., native became just the sixth player in league history to surpass the 4,000-yard mark in a season and his total offense mark was the third most.  Hardesty is a four-time GSC Player of the Week and he is a candidate for the Harlon Hill Trophy.

Congrats are also extended to Hardesty's coach, Reddies coach Scott Maxfield, and Harding Bisons coach Ronnie Huckeba who with Valdosta State's David Dean, share Gulf South honors as Coaches of the Year. The award is the career-first for each head coach.
