The final score last night was Oakland 89, Tennessee 82, which at first glance makes one think, "Wow, that must have been one heck of a passing game." Obviously it wasn't football, but could the No. 7 Tennessee Volunteers really get knocked out by a Summit League school with a 5-5 record? Apparently, the answer is yes.

It would be easy to climb all over Bruce Pearl and give him the news for this Outhouse, but according to ESPN.com, the game really seems to be more of an Oakland win than a Tennessee loss:

The Vols held a 76-68 lead with 7:18 left, but then went cold for over five minutes. They tried to regain control with physical play in the paint, but it backfired as they got called for foul after foul while failing to come away with points or rebounds.

Oakland used a 13-0 run of mostly free throws, and a layup by Will Hudson gave the Grizzlies an 81-76 lead they would not relinquish.

It was the second time Pearl has lost a non-conference game in Knoxville during his six-year tenure. Perhaps even more special, it was only Oakland's second won over a Top 25 school since 1998.
