Arkansas tailback Knile Davis was one of the top rushing threats in the Southeastern Conference this year. He had a late-season surge with 889 yards over the final six games and finished with 1,183 for the season.
Yet Davis didn’t get included as a first-team all-SEC coaches pick. That led to Davis’ inclusion on a list of Top 5 most underrated players compiled by Dr. Saturday, the college football blog for Yahoo! Sports.
Here’s a portion of what blogger Matt Hinton had to say about Davis:
The Razorback ground game was always destined to toil in the long shadow of quarterback Ryan Mallett, but Davis turned a crowded backfield into a one-man show by midseason, complementing his QB's prolific arm with five 100-yard efforts on the ground in the last six games.
Davis admitted Monday he was a little surprised by how the year ended.
“If you had asked me if I would get a thousand before this season, I would have said you are crazy,” Davis said.
Are folks crazy for not appreciating Davis more? Hinton seems to think so.
Who gets your vote for most underappreciated Razorback this season?
