Arkansas State is like most schools and already has offers out for the 2012 recruiting class. Before we shift our full focus there, let's take a final look back at the 23 players the Red Wolves signed last week on National Signing Day, including five within the state. currently ranks the class No. 4 in the Sun Belt Conference. We asked Luke Matheson of Arkansas Varsity, a Rivals-affiliated site, for his evaluation of the class:

*How do you view this class overall? Is this what they need to compete in the Sun Belt?
It’s a very good first class for Coach Freeze and his staff. Considering they went out and got 22 commitments with only half of a staff in place, and they were able to keep any of those commitments from flipping to other schools speaks volumes to me. What will they be able to do with a full year and full staff over this next year? If this year is any indication, they will do very well. In fact, offers have already gone out to several in the Class of 2012 to include Jonesboro's Zac Brooks, Helena-West Helena's Rod Willie Ross, Warren's Jalen Cobb and Rison's Marquis Walker.

Is this what they need to compete? Absolutely. They have some key playmakers getting ready to come on campus. In addition to the 22 who were expected to sign, they were able to snatch a quality wide receiver in Joshua Jarboe from other schools such as USC, Pitt, Tennessee, and Mississippi State.

*Key defensive commit. Why?
Either Newport ATH Artez Brown or Watson Chapel ATH Kyle Coleman. Both have a shot at coming in and contributing as true freshmen, and both have the ability to be difference makers. These two guys together in the defensive backfield could be the best at ASU since Tyrell Johnson and Khayyam Burns.

*Key offensive commit. Why?
Joshua Jarboe. Yeah, he brings some baggage with him, but the coaching staff believes he has cleaned up his act and is serious about playing football. This is a guy who was a 4 star out of high school when he committed to Oklahoma, and has an amazing highlight reel. He could be that guy ASU needed to help send the offense over the top.
