Ryan Mallett threw at the NFL Scouting Combine on Sunday and confirmed what most knew already: He can toss the football.

Throwing drills with receivers highlighted Mallett’s strength. He drew high praise from the NFL Network team covering Sunday’s drills as they watched his footwork on three- and five-step drops, his arm strength and accuracy.

“If you’re playing 7-on7 flag football this is your guy,” Mike Mayock said. “… This kid can make every throw.”

Pro Football Talk said Mallett received “rave reviews” for his workout. Mallett impressed scouts and media with his throwing and “pinpoint accuracy.”

PFT talked to Tony Pauline of SI.com and TFYDraft.com, who called the performance the best quarterback effort at the Combine of the last ten years.

Still, questions about Mallett’s demeanor and off-field life were big parts of the conversation. How Mallett performs under pressure also came up on a NFL Network segment as Mayock, Rich Eisen and Sterling Sharpe discussed the Texarkana native.

Despite the questions and less than favorable media reviews, Mallett’s agent said the weekend went well for his client. Mallett has 12 meetings with NFL teams and the feeling is that those interviews were a success for the quarterback.

“We believe Ryan had a great weekend,” Carroll said. “Interviews went great and he threw the ball well.”

Here's video of Mallett talking with a couple of analysts on the NFL Network:
