HS Basketball: Clarksville Defeats Westside For Class 4A Boys Title

HOT SPRINGS — Dederick Lee hit five of six free throws in the final 47 seconds to carry the Clarksville Panthers to a 60-54 victory over the Jonesboro Westside Warriors in the Class 4A boys championship game.

Lee sank his five free throws after the Panthers had hit just 1 of 8 in a stretch that allowed Westside (30-5) to climb within a basket in the final quarter.

Lee finished with 24 points, four assists and three steals. His brother, Kendrick Lee, had 16 points.

Hunter Mickelson led Westside with 24 points.

Westside's only lead was in the first minute of the game. Clarksville had a 35-25 advantage at halftime.

The Panthers' largest lead, 14 points, came in the third quarter, but Westside got as close as two in the final quarter.
