Former Arkansas center Oliver Miller has been arrested for assault with a handgun in Maryland.

Miller was arrested Tuesday for “pistol whipping a man at a barbecue”, according to a report from WUSA9 TV. Miller, 41, played in the NBA for eight seasons after he was a first-round draft pick in 1992.

Here’s more on the arrest of Miller, who was affectionately known as "Big O" because of his size:

Miller wasn't at the Birchrest Court home Sunday, when police arrived to the call. Police say they tracked him down based on eye witness accounts and a 9MM GLOCK magazine that was left behind at the scene.

"Miller is charged with First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Having a Handgun on Person, Using a Handgun in a Violent Crime, Possessing a Handgun in a Vehicle, Disorderly Conduct and other related charges," police said.

If this weren’t so serious, there’d be a joke here involving Big O, assault and barbecue. But it’s hard to be funny when multiple offenses involving a gun are involved.
