Arkansas State head men’s basketball coach John Brady announced Tuesday that Rakeem Dickerson has signed a national letter of intent to continue his basketball career at Arkansas State.

“We are excited that Rakeem Dickerson has signed to play basketball at Arkansas State,” said ASU head coach John Brady. With only one point guard on our roster returning in Ed Townsel, Rakeem is a welcome addition to our team. He has won a state championship in high school at Little Rock Hall and won a national AAU championship with the Arkansas Wings. He makes the players around him better, is unselfish, a good defender and understands winning. We are looking forward to Rakeem being a part of our basketball team.”

The 6-foot-1 point guard comes to the Red Wolves after playing last season at Brehm Prep where he led his team to a 38-10 record averaging 14 points, five assists and three rebounds a game.

Dickerson played high school basketball at Little Rock Hall where he led his team to the 2009-10 6A Arkansas State Championship as well as led his AAU team, the Arkansas Wings, to the 2010 National Championship. He averaged 12.8 points per game, 4.8 assists per game and 2.3 rebounds per game at Hall.
