If you saw Erin Andrews on the mic while some Hank Williams Jr. played in the background, you might have thoughts about a fall game day at Reynolds Razorback Stadium. CMT is hoping that pairing — plus a number of other artists and personalities — will turn attention to disaster relief.

CMT will host a concert in Nashville, Tenn.,  on Thursday beginning at 8 p.m. CDT to raise awareness. Andrews will co-host and artists featured will include Williams, Alabama, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum, Ronnie Dunn, Sara Evans, Tim McGraw and others.

Money raised by the event will go to the Red Cross, which is aiding disaster relief in six states, including Arkansas. An initial count is that 600 tornadoes took place in April, destroying more than 13,000 homes.

Flooding is also becoming a problem in Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee.

Here’s more from the Red Cross:

Visit www.redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or text the word REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.

Any donation, large or small, will help. For example, $3 can provide a comfort kit for someone in a disaster. $6 can cover the cost of a blanket, $10 the cost of a hot meal. For $150, someone’s donation can cover the cost of providing food and shelter to a family of four for a day they spend  in a shelter.

Arkansas athletes recently took part in “Woo Tide! Hogs Care!”, aimed at helping tornado victims in Vilonia and Tuscaloosa, Ala.

J.B. Hunt Transport Services Inc. donated a truck to transport all toiletry items and bottled water to the Vilonia and Tuscaloosa communities. Items were delivered Saturday.

Donations are still being taken for Vilonia at Arvest Bank locations. The account number to donate is: 15315379.
