Waiting on college football season to start can be agonizing. To pass the time we’ve been thumbing through a collection of national preseason magazines.

We’ll be looking at a different magazine each day the rest of the week, checking out how they break down the season. It’s not quite as exciting as kickoff or those first two-a-days (or even media days), but it’s the best we’ve got for now.

Here’s what The Sporting News has to say about the…

ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS
PROJECTED CONFERENCE FINISH:
          No. 3, SEC West
NATIONAL RANK:                                      No. 11
2011 CONF. RECRUITING RANK:
No. 9
ALL-CONFERENCE PICKS:
DE Jake Bequette (first-team); LB Jerry Franklin (first).
NOTABLE:
RB Knile Davis is listed a third-team All-American; PR Joe Adams is listed as a third-team all-American; Davis is tabbed “the most elusive” running back.

SPEAKING OUT
“No one in the nation has a better set of receivers, and tailback Knile Davis is the most underrated player in the country. Can the defense — and new QB Tyler Wilson — lift this team beyond potential and to the top of the SEC?”
