The NFL

The long - four and a half months - national football nightmare is over. The NFL ended its lockout Monday, clearing the way for a full schedule this fall. You won't have to watch CFL games on Sundays. Las Vegas bookmakers breathe a huge collective sigh of relief. You can add one more year to that ancient Yahoo account from college that only gets used for Fantasy Football.

Hank Williams Jr. can postpone those plans for retirement. Maybe he can get Jewel and the guys from Smashmouth to record the "Monday Night Opening" with him this year.

We're happy for the rookies, drafted just as this stuff was starting and facing an uncertain professional career. Now, just weeks away from the regular season opening, they can start working out with the actual teams that brought them to this grand dance. Former Razorback D.J. Williams tweeted with excitement that he was "Packing my bags. Getting ready for greenbay !!!"

The best part for fans is that this new agreement doesn't expire for another ten years. Perhaps the nation should turn toward Roger Goodell and DeMaurice Smith to settle this debt ceiling mess.
