There is a perception that SEC players might be better prepared for the NFL than their counterparts in other conferences. Multiple draft picks come from the league each year and the SEC has won five consecutive national titles.
Former Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett agrees the SEC is good. The third-round pick by the New England Patriots is just not sure it’s quite the preparation for the NFL that some folks think.
Look at what Mallett recently told Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald:
“It’s a really good conference, but it’s not the NFL. People say it’s the next step and it isn’t even close. It’s totally different. The NFL is completely different than college football.”
Mallett is working to adjust to the changes. Rapoport writes that Mallett is working to improve his accuracy and drops, and is often one of the last players off the field.
