Martavius Adams, an All-Sun Belt Conference pick, has been dismissed from the Arkansas State basketball team.

Coach John Brady announced the move in a statement released on Monday. No reason for the dismissal of the 6-foot-8 forward was given.

“Throughout my coaching career I have always had a great deal of support for my players. I have always tried to guide, council, disciple and hopefully improve their decision making process as it relates to their membership on the team. When this process has been exhausted and the proper behavior has not been reached, then membership on the team can no longer be allowed. This is the case with Martavius Adams. Our present team will accept the challenge of playing without him and to a man, we believe success will continue to take place.”

Adams averaged 11.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per game for the Red Wolves in 2010-11, helping them win the Sun Belt West Division. He was picked as a first-team all-league player a week ago by Sun Belt coaches.
