Kidding aside, Wilson said he’ll do what he always does. Whoever the offense gets open, he’ll throw to.

“I’m going to throw it to who is open,” Wilson said. “Whoever gets the record first gets it. Hopefully they’re both going to surpass it. I have to buy the other one dinner after, I guess.”

II. Tyler Wilson Day
Forget award watch lists. Is there a better sign Tyler Wilson has arrived than the declaration of Nov. 8 as “Tyler Wilson Day” in his hometown?

Wilson, who has thrown for 2,626 yards with 15 touchdowns, was honored in Greenwood on Tuesday. He said he is the second quarterback from Greenwood High to earn the distinction, joining former Miami signee Daniel Stegall with that honor.

“I guess my time is now,” Wilson said. “It’s kind of funny. You don’t ever really think about that.”

III. Showing Improvement
Arkansas’ offensive line didn’t hit its goal of not allowing a sack against South Carolina. Beyond that, guard Grant Cook was pleased with how the unit performed and the direction they’re headed.

Entering the game the Gamecocks had tallied 16 sacks. A week earlier the Razorbacks had allowed three sacks against Vanderbilt.

“We took a huge stride the other night,” Cook said. “… We came in and really worked hard last week with the technique issues that were apparent, obviously, at Vanderbilt. We did a good job of cleaning that up and coming and knowing our assignments and making sure we got the job done.”

Speaking Out
“You pat a guy on the tail and keep moving. Just keep his head up. That’s the way I’ve always been coached. Well, that’s the way I’ve always felt about being coached, rallying around people. That’s how I’d like to be handled.”
—Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson on how he handled drops by Cobi Hamilton and Ronnie Wingo against South Carolina. Both passes would have been touchdowns.
