Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino said Knile Davis is not ready to play for the Razorbacks, though the preseason all-SEC running back pick has been practicing with the team.

Davis, who broke his ankle Aug. 11, has been on the field "about three weeks." Still, he is not in position to play for the sixth-ranked Razorabcks, Petrino said.

"He is not playing," Petrino said. "He's been out there running around in practice for about three weeks. He's not in a situation he can play."

Davis is making a quick recovery from the injury that was supposed to sideline him for 2011. Still, medically he is not ready and has "hardware to be taken out of his ankle," Petrino said.

"Obviously [Knile] would like to play," Petrino added. "He's not in a position where he can play."
