Bobby Petrino didn’t have to look far in his search for an offensive coordinator.
Petrino, according to a report in The (Champaign) News-Gazette, will re-hire his brother, Paul, from Illinois. Paul Petrino served as OC at Arkansas in 2008 and 2009.
Here’s the report:
Illinois offensive coordinator Paul Petrino is leaving the program today and will return to coach at Arkansas. Petrino joined the Illinois staff after working for his brother Bobby with the Razorbacks.
Paul Petrino will replace Garrick McGee, who was introduced Monday as the head coach at Alabama Birmingham. McGee served as quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator the last two seasons.
It is unclear exactly what position Paul Petrino will coach, but he does have experience with coaching quarterbacks.
Keep an eye on what Arkansas will pay. McGee was making $425,000 with the Razorbacks and Petrino was making $475,000 at Illinois.
