Pulaski Academy quarterback Fredi Knighten has committed to Arkansas State.

Knighten, named earlier this week as the Landers Award winner as the top high school player in the state, announced his decision via Twitter.

“Howl yes!! Im gonna be a red wolf! #RunningWithThePack,” Knighten tweeted at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Saturday.

Knighten, who guided the Bruins to a 4A state championship and undefeated season, passed for 4,559 yards and 66 touchdowns. Arkansas State and Louisiana Tech were the top two schools vying for Knighten’s services.

Commitments are non-binding until signing day in February.
