Report: Dorial Green-Beckham To Choose Missouri Over Razorbacks, Sooners, Others

John Hoover, Oklahoma beat reporter for the Tulsa World, says No. 1 receiver prospect Dorial Green-Beckham will choose Missouri on national signing day.

This story is from the archives of

Dorial Green-Beckham, the nation’s top rated wide receiver, was among the 19,000-plus in the stands calling the Hogs when Arkansas’ football team was honored two weeks ago for an 11-win season.  Green-Beckham was on his official visit to Fayetteville and even national recruiting outlets felt that might be the first of many Hog Calls for the Parade and USA Today Player of the Year.

But a Tulsa World reporter said Monday morning that the Springfield, Mo. product was swayed by a weekend visit to Missouri. John Hoover, who covers Oklahoma, tweeted on Monday that he believes Green-Beckham is choosing Missouri over Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.  Hoover was citing a Sooners’ source.

Hoover’s tweet:

“Extremely good source just told me Dorial Green-Beckham to Missouri. Influential visit last [weekend]. Things can change but I trust him.” writer Dennis Dodd apparently spoke with Green-Beckham's coach/father and John Beckham denied the report.

Nothing, of course, is official until national signing day on Wednesday. However, some national writers are beginning to back off their stance that DGB is headed to Fayetteville.

It's doubtful DGB's commitment will be made public by him or his family prior to signing day. He's set to announce his decision on ESPNU at 9 a.m.

Stay tuned.
