There are still folks out there who think national player of the year Dorial Green-Beckham has yet to offer up his final Hog Call.

Consider the take of Springfield News Leader columnist Matt Schoch, who seems to think that the nation’s No. 1 wide receiver, a hometown product, is going to be Calling the Hogs on national signing day. Schoch notes the national position of the Razorbacks (Top 5), the location of Fayetteville (120 miles from Springfield) as factors that could influence Green-Beckham, the Parade and USA Today player of the year.

Schoch says several factors indicate, to him, that DGB is headed to Fayetteville:

While reading about DGB's recent visits to Arkansas and Missouri, both communities definitely showed him love.

But the Fayetteville folks seemed to make it a little bit less of a spectacle than those in Columbia, who were no doubt taking cues from its coaching staff.

However, there are a handful of wildcards those of us on the outside may never know about --friends he made on visits, personal relationships at home or at any of the schools ... there could be any number of factors in play we don't know about.

But many signs point south to Fayetteville.

This news will no doubt be met more favorably by Arkansas fans than that from Oklahoma beat writer John Hoover of the Tulsa World, who tweeted earlier today that he thought Missouri would win out over Arkansas and Oklahoma.

As we mentioned on an earlier DGB post, nothing is official until Wednesday. And it would make little sense for any “official” word to be out there since ESPNU will be in Springfield to air Green-Beckham’s announcement live at 9 a.m.

Stay tuned.
