Anybody up for a 22-hour road trip?

That could potentially be on the horizon for Arkansas, according to a report in the Newark-based Star Ledger. It appears the Razorbacks and Rutgers could play a home-and-home series in 2012 and 2013.

Here’s more from the Star Ledger:

In addition, both people said, Rutgers is close to finalizing a home-and-home deal with Arkansas, starting this fall. Rutgers would play at Arkansas this year, with the Razorbacks coming to Rutgers Stadium in 2013, becoming the first SEC team to play in Piscataway.

Sure, 1,300 miles seems like a long way to go. But this is a chance for a home-and-home with a BCS conference opponent, something Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long and Coach Bobby Petrino have expressed an interest in securing.

Arkansas recently signed a recruit from New Jersey, linebacker Vin Ascolese.
