Austin Kellerman, who comes to KARK from Abilene, Texas, where he was news director for CBS-affiliated KTAB-TV and NBC-affiliated KRBC-TV.

KARK-TV, Channel 4, in Little Rock has replaced Rob Heverling, the NBC affiliate's news director of about seven years.

Austin Kellerman is slated to take on Heverling's former job next Monday. His responsibilities will include overseeing news content on KARK, KARZ-TV, Channel 42, and on the KARK website, ArkansasMatters.com.

Kellerman comes to the station from Abilene, Texas, where he was news director for CBS-affiliated KTAB-TV and NBC-affiliated KRBC-TV. Kellerman also worked previously as a morning show executive producer for KTVT-TV, a CBS affiliate in Dallas, and as executive producer of NBC-affiliated KTAL-TV in Shreveport, La.

Heverling is "moving on," station General Manager Mike Vaughn said Monday. Vaughn declined to discuss Heverling's plans, saying that the changes for him were a personnel matter and Vaughn could not talk about them in detail. But Vaughn did confirm that Heverling would no longer be employed by Nextstar or its affiliates. Heverling's final day with KARK is Friday.

Nextstar Broadcasting Group of Irving, Texas, owns KARK and its sister station, KARZ, which is an affiliate of MyNetworkTV.
