Razorback Women Defeat Ole Miss, Pick Up First SEC Tournament Win Since 2005

Arkansas won its first SEC Women's Tournament game in six seasons on Thursday with a 67-47 victory against Ole Miss.

All-SEC pick C'eira Ricketts scored 10 points to lead the way for the Razorbacks (22-7).Lyndsay Harris and Dominique Robinson each added nine as Arkansas hit 49 percent of its shots.

“It was a great win,” said Coach Tom Collen. “It is nice to snap that SEC Tournament losing streak.”

Up next is No. 4 seed LSU. Tipoff is 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Arkansas led 8-0 to start the game and never faced a deficit. Ole Miss (12-17) turned the ball over 12 times in the first half to set up easy Razorback scores. The Razorbacks led 36-17 at halftime.

 

“I think we have been a pretty good defensive team all year,” Collen said. “It has been a focus for us all season and I think it was a difference maker in the opening minutes of the game.”
