WNIT: Oklahoma State, UCA Women Prepare For First Meeting Since 2007

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State and Central Arkansas will open play in the Women's National Invitation Tournament.

The Cowgirls (16-12, 8-10 Big 12) and the Sugar Bears (24-6, 14-2 Southland) take to the Gallagher-Iba Arena court at 7 p.m. Friday, marking only the second time the teams have met. Oklahoma State beat Central Arkansas 107-36 in December 2007.

The Cowgirls are playing in the tournament for the second year in a row. Oklahoma State reached the WNIT quarterfinals in 2001. Central Arkansas is the reigning Southland Conference champions and are are 3-1 against NCAA tournament teams this season. The Sugar Bears are led by Megan Herbert, who is averaging 17.6 points per game and 11.3 rebounds per game.
