University of Arkansas offensive tackle Jason Peacock has been suspended indefinitely following an arrest on a felony theft of property charge.

Peacock, 23, was arrested by UAPD and booked into the Washington Country Detention Center at 7:30 p.m. Bond was set at $2,500 for the March 5 incident, which involved a stolen debit card. Peacock was released at 12:32 a.m. Saturday and later issued an apology via his Twitter account: “I just want to let ill the fans that I'm sorry for letn them down sorry for letn the team down and my family.”

According to the UAPD arrest report, Peacock turned himself in and admitted to police he used a stolen debit card to purchase $36.01 worth of gas. Video at the EZ Mart where the gas was purchased showed a silver Lincoln Town Car was "the vehicle at the pump when the credit card was used" on March 5.

Police later traced that car to Peacock, who, according to the report, told police he took the wallet of a female student from her purse. That purse was later found in the men's room of the Fine Arts Building on campus, though Peacock told police he kept the credit card and driver's license of the student. Peacock "surrendered them" to police at UAPD when he went in for an interview with police.

Peacock has a preliminary hearing Monday and is scheduled to appear in Washington County Circuit Court on April 16.

“I am aware of the situation and he has been suspended indefinitely,” Coach Bobby Petrino said.

Peacock, a 6-4, 310-pound senior, entered spring practice as a starter at tackle. He started nine games in 2011.

Arkansas students began spring break on Friday. Razorback players held their final team meeting before the break on Friday.

Petrino said on Thursday he hoped players would do “everything right” and be “safe” during the break.
