Chance Cleveland’s career-high 12 strikeouts against Troy helped him pick up a weekend victory for UALR. It landed Cleveland ahead of all Sun Belt Conference pitchers in strikeouts for the season.

And it netted him the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week award.

Cleveland (5-1), who gave up three hits and two runs in a 5-3 victory against Troy, pitched eight innings, striking out 12 and surrendering just three hits and two runs.

UALR (15-9, 2-4) will be back on the field Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Stillwater, Okla. After facing Oklahoma State, the Trojans will get ready for a three-game series at Western Kentucky.
