The Baylor women's basketball team won its national title by 19 against Notre Dame Tuesday night in Denver, becoming the first college team ever, male or female, to complete a season with a 40-0 record.
Brittney Griner starred as the star of the team, but junior guard Jordan Madden becomes the latest Arkansan to win a championship ring. The native of Lepanto and graduate of East Poinsett County led both teams in the title game with five assists and ends the season with a points per game average of 25.3.
The team will arrive back in Waco today and proceed directly to Baylor's Ferrell Center for its official celebration.
And next year? All five starters are due to return.
