Jessica Dorrell was seen on Arkansas' campus as recently as Tuesday of last week, days after her motorcycle accident with Coach Bobby Petrino, but before her involvement was made public.

Dorrell, hired by Petrino as student athlete development coordinator for football, was providing a tour of the campus to a recruit Tuesday. Her name surfaced in a police report Thursday tying her to the scene of the accident.

Since then, Dorrell has not been spotted. The Associated Press spoke with a former volleyball player and athletic departement fundraister who is a friend of Dorrell's.

That friend, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told the AP that the "volleyball program's alumni have reached out to Dorrell."

"We feel like we have to do all we can right now to protect her. She's done so many great things, but all of that is wiped out in the eyes of some people now. She's not a bad person."

The AP reports that Dorrell hasn't "returned calls from friends since the police report was released Thursday."

"She's in safe mode right now," the person said. "Everyone has made mistakes. Everyone has dirty laundry, but not everyone has their dirty laundry shown on national television."

Dorrell was hired by Petrino on March 28.
