Agent Confirms Petrino Will Not Appeal Termination As Razorback Coach

Former Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino will not appeal his termination with cause from the University of Arkansas.

Petrino confirmed through his attorney that he would waive his appeal, meaning he walks away with none of the remainder of his contract or the $18 million buyout that was built into it.

Arkansas informed Petrino in writing of his firing on 5:45 p.m. Tuesday. He had five days to appeal the decision to the UA chancellor.

Petrino informed the UA he would not appeal via email sent to Athletic Director Jeff Long. Below is the contest of the email: Content of the e-mail sent to Jeff Long last night:

Jeff, consistent with Coach Petrino's previous statement, he accepts responsibility for the events that led to the University's decision to terminate his employment. Although extremely disappointed, he respects the University's decision and will not avail himself of the University's administrative appeal process.

Coach Petrino and his family wish nothing but the best for both the Razorback football program and University of Arkansas.

Petrino was at Arkansas for four seasons. He was 34-17 overall with a 21-5 records the last two years.
