University of Central Arkansas center fielder Jonathan Davis earned Southland Conference hitter of the week honors Monday after leading the Bears to a three-game sweep of Nicholls State last weekend.

Davis, a sophomore from Camden, batted .769 batting (10 of 13) with 7 runs, 3 RBI and 4 stolen bases against Nicholls State. Over the five-game span last week, Davis hit .667.

Davis, the reigning SLC Freshman of the Year, is hitting .349, ranking ninth in the conference. He is third in runs scored with 32 and tied for fifth in stolen bases with 14.

The Bears improved to 16-17, 10-8 last weekend. UCA travels to San Marcos, Texas, this weekend to play the Texas State Bobcats.
