Arkansas-Little Rock outfielder Sean Bignall has been named a semifinalist for the 2012 Dick Howser Trophy for the nation's collegiate baseball top player.

Bignall is one of 35 players to make the list of semifinalists, who represent 17 conferences and 32 schools.

Bignall leads the Sun Belt Conference in runs scored (59), RBIs (64), total bases (148) and slugging percentage (.715). He has already set new Arkansas-Little Rock single-season records for home runs and total bases, and needs to drive in two more runs to break the school's single-season RBI record of 65.

The Dick Howser Trophy will be presented June 15. It is named after the former Florida State University shortstop and major league player, who died of brain cancer in 1987.
