Bike Rental Company Gets Warm Reception

2 min read

Those wishing to visit downtown Little Rock have a new way to get around, thanks to Bobby’s Bike Hike, a bike rental and touring company.

Owner Jeremy Lewno, a Little Rock native, opened Bobby’s Bike Hike in Chicago 10 years ago and decided it was time to bring it back home. The Little Rock location opened in March, and Lewno said the community had been very accepting.

"They find it cool that we are here and that Little Rock can house something like this," he said. "I feel like I’m offering some validity that it is a city that people do want to explore."

Lewno said he thought he could contribute to the city with his three "tenets" of travel, community and health.

"It all caters to that," he said. He wants to "promote education through travel, build a more vibrant community and promote health."

Bobby’s Bike Hike has 60 bikes of all types, including tandem, mountain and children’s bikes. Rentals start at $10 to $20 for a half day (four hours) and cost $20 to $30 for a full day.

Lewno also began offering tours recently. One tour includes the Clinton Presidential Library, Heifer International, the historic Quapaw Quarter, Central High School, the state Capitol building, the Old State House Museum and other parts of downtown. More tours will start this summer.

Despite the coming heat of summer, Lewno is optimistic about the company. "I feel like the future of Little Rock tourism is going to be quite big," he said.

Bobby’s Bike Hike is located at 400 President Clinton Ave. in the River Market Pavilion. It is open 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Sat. and 11:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Sun. Call (501) 613-7001 for more information.
