Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville slipped to No. 2 on the Fortune 500 list of companies ranked by revenue, which was released by the magazine Monday.

Exxon Mobil reclaimed the top spot, which had been held by Wal-Mart for the past two consecutive years.

Wal-Mart reported $447 billion in revenue in 2011, which was up 6 percent from 2010.

Its profits dropped 4.6 percent to $15.7 billion.
