Van Horn Gets $25,000 Bonus For 400th Win, Could Earn $100,000 In Omaha

Arkansas Coach Dave Van Horn has earned $25,000 in incentive money so far this postseason and could earn additional $100,000 at the College World Series.

Van Horn will — at minimum — earn $38,438 for getting the Razorbacks into the final eight team tournament. The bonus represents two months of base UA salary ($230,625) and a national championship would net Van Horn $100,000 bonus. Postseason bonuses are non-cumulative, so $100,000 would be the max for a title.

Earning career victory 400 at Arkansas on June 2 triggered an “extraordinary achievement incentive” in Van Horn's contract worth $25,000. So he's already guaranteed at least $63,438 in extra income.

Arkansas and Van Horn agreed to terms of a new contract in April 2011. It runs through 2020 and the annual salary will peak at $609,000.

Van Horn is 403-221 in 10 seasons at Arkansas entering Saturday’s game against Kent State. This is the Razorbacks’ third trip to the College World Series under Van Horn.
