The literary project is a nonprofit organization. It publishes the magazine of Southern writing out of Conway.

The NEA during the past three years has awarded $50,000 in grants to the Oxford American Literary Project. The $30,000 is the fourth consecutive and largest grant the literary project has received from the NEA.
