There's an App for That

Frank Cox began his job as executive vice president and chief communications officer at Hendrix College in Conway on July 1. Creating a crisis communications plan for the college was one of the first things he did.

Cox said that during his years in advertising, he'd seen the negative consequences afflicting clients who lacked a crisis plan.

In addition, he said, "When you have this many people between the ages of 18 and 22 in a group, sometimes things can occur."

Cox wrote a crisis communications plan, and the college's chief information officer, David Hinson, created an application for it. The app is available on Cox's iPad or phone, "which means I'm never far away from it," he said.

Cox's fellow Hendrix executives also have access to the plan through the computer application.
