Super Mover: Tamika Silverman Edwards

Tamika Silverman Edwards, who has been named director of public policy for Southern Good Faith Fund, spent 10 years as community affairs specialist for former U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark.

Background: A native of Little Rock, Edwards has a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, a master’s in professional and technical writing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and is scheduled to complete a law degree at UALR Bowen School of Law in December. Before spending a decade on Sen. Lincoln’s staff, she was political director for the Democratic Party of Arkansas and on the grants management team at the Arkansas Department of Economic Development.

New Job: Southern Good Faith Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit affiliate of Southern Bancorp Inc. of Arkadelphia. "My new position as director of Southern’s policy program furthers my passion and determination to better the lives of people in the region I call home.  I am eager to move the policy agenda of Southern forward and affirm Southern’s commitment to exceptional and impactful policy work in Arkansas and Mississippi."

Other Interests: Edwards is a member of the Friends of Mosaic Templars Cultural Center Board of Directors, Women’s Advisory Council for Delta Trust & Bank, Leadership Greater Little Rock Class XX, Leadership Arkansas Class I, University of Arkansas at Little Rock Alumni Board, Junior League of Little Rock and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Edwards was an Arkansas Business "40 Under 40" honoree in 2010.
