The head football coaches in the Great American Conference have named Henderson State University as the preseason favorite to win the league’s first ever football championship. The new conference is made up of six Arkansas schools from the the Guif South and three Oklahoma schools who were members of the Lone Star Conference.

Former Arkansas tight end D.J. Williams is already making a mark in training camp with the Green Bay Packers. Find out more about former players from Arkansas in the NFL in this round-up.

Arkansas State can’t be accused of playing a soft schedule in 2012. A game at Nebraska on Sept. 15 has been added to a non-conference schedule that includes a Sept. 1, season-opener at Oregon. ASU will host Memphis in between those two games.

And finally, Tiger Woods is looking for a new caddie after dismissing Steve Williams. ArkansasSports360.com's Jim Harris says he's available.
