Baptist Health Looks to Add WLR Satellite Campus

Have you heard that another medical center is looking to establish a satellite campus in west Little Rock?

We're told Baptist Health has land under contract at the southwest corner of Chenal Parkway and Highway 10.

Details are scant for now, but our Chenal bureau chief tells us to expect a done deal in the coming weeks.

You might recall that the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences bought 11.3 acres at the southeast corner of Cantrell and Rodney Parham roads in December for $3.65 million for a future project.

That move followed St. Vincent Health System's purchase of 17.8 acres for $4 million in December 2009 near the southeast corner of La Grande Drive and Rahling Road.

St. Vincent intends to add 19 acres later this summer and will open a 40,000-SF medical office building in November at the west Little Rock property.
