Ryan D. Holder has been elected the 2011-12 president of the central chapter of the Arkansas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Holder works for Hudson Cisne & Co. LLP in Little Rock. William B. Cottrell of the Arkansas Department of Human Services in Little Rock is vice president, Corey V. Brooks of EGP PLLC in North Little Rock is secretary, and James W. McBryde of Bank of the Ozarks in Little Rock is treasurer. Barbara A. Barron of Pat Salmon & Sons Inc. in North Little Rock has been named continuing professional education representative, and Patricia H. Mounce of the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway has been named educational liaison. Elizabeth A. Smith of Johnson Smith & Associates PLLC in Little Rock has been named legislative representative, while Thomas L. Carlisle of Miller & Co. PLC in Little Rock has been named public relations representative.

Robin A. Roberts has been named dean of the J. William Fulbright College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Roberts is a professor of English and former associate dean of the College of Arts & Sciences at Louisiana State University.

David O. Belcher has been selected as chancellor of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, N.C. Belcher has been the provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Don and Ellen Edmonson of Forrest City have received the Chancellor's Medal for their support and service to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. One of their contributions was a gift to name the School of Architecture in 2008 in memory of architect Fay Jones. Also being recognized with the Chancellor's Medal are Bob and Sunny Evans of Hot Springs. Many of the Evanses' contributions have provided funding for the Fay Jones School of Architecture's Garvan Woodland Gardens in Hot Springs.

Financial Services
Marlene Brown has been promoted to senior vice president of commercial lending for Bank of the Ozarks in Little Rock. She has been with the bank since 2007.

Theresa Spidle has received the Circle of Excellence Award for Outstanding Support by Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc., headquartered in Memphis. Spidle is a registered sales assistant and vice president at the firm's Little Rock office.

Teresa Marks has been appointed chair of the water committee for the Environmental Council of the States. Marks has been the director of the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality since 2007. 

Health Care
Dr. Katherine Irish-Clardy has been selected as a 2011 Phenomenal Woman by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock. She is the chief medical officer of Sparks Health System in Fort Smith and is also a full-time faculty member of the UAMS Area Health Education Center, also in Fort Smith.

Dr. Ken Wright has joined Mercy Clinic at St. Joseph's Mercy Health System in Hot Springs. Wright is a family practice physician.

Lesley Rogers recently received the Lawyer Community Legacy Award from the Arkansas Bar Association. Rogers is a constituent adviser for the Arkansas State Senate.

Heather Bailey has joined The Communications Group in Little Rock as a media buyer. Bailey has worked in the advertising and media industry for 18 years. Anna Holt has also joined the company as a receptionist.

Jennifer Wheeler was recently named one of the top 10 international sales performers in North America by the Allegra network franchise system for international excellence in sales. Amy Gatewood was also recognized, earning the International Silver Annual Sales Achievement Award. Both Wheeler and Gatewood work for Allegra in Little Rock.

Tony O. Woodell is the new chief operating officer for Lions World Services for the Blind in Little Rock. Woodell previously was the director of annual giving at Baptist Health Foundation and national director of regional operations for Heifer International.

Real Estate
Bill Tobias was recently inducted into Crye-Leike Realtors' Diamond Circle of Excellence Club. Tobias, a real estate agent in Conway, was given the honorary title of vice president.

Randy Mason has joined Baxley Penfield Moudy Realtors in Benton as a real estate agent. Mason previously worked for more than 25 years in the automotive industry.
