Matt Mosler's Beautiful Feet Ministry has purchased the 14,000-SF Pintail Peninsula Lodge in Humphrey. The ministry says it will use the property as a teaching and retreat center for churches, men's and women's groups, corporations and individuals.

The lodge sits on a 280 acre farm in the Bayou Meto wildlife management area. While renovations to the lodge continue, Mosler says several groups have already held retreats there, with more scheduled for next month.

A purchase price was not disclosed. The sale closed late last year. In early 2010, the property was part of a $1.5 million real estate deal between Bank of Little Rock and developer Walter Quinn.

"This will totally transform our ministry," Mosler said. "The lodge still needs plenty of work and we are busy now, with many volunteers assisting. We are planning a grand opening later this spring."

In a news release, Mosler said Beautiful Feet Ministry purchased the property solely through gifts and donations from the ministry's board of directors and supporters. He said the lodge will be named in honor of the project's biggest donor, the late Jim Miller of Burke, Va., the father of one of Mosler's life-long friends who is also a board member of the ministry.

The nonprofit Beautiful Feet Ministry was founded in 1998 and incorporated in February 2001.

Mosler is also a news anchor at Nexstar Broadcasting-owned NBC affiliate KARK-TV, Channel 4, in Little Rock.
