U.S. Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., this week honored Arkansas Business' latest group of Forty Under 40 honorees by entering their names into the Congressional record.

Lincoln's office released her statement on the matter in a news release Wednesday. The full statement, as entered into the record, appears below.

Each year, Arkansas Business readers nominate business, political and nonprofit leaders under the age of 40 for inclusion in the annual class, which honors up-and-coming Arkansans.

Arkansas Business' 40 Under Forty is in its 17th year. The latest class was published in the weekly business newspaper last week and can be found here.

Arkansas Business will honor the latest class, as well as previous classes, at luncheon at noon Wednesday. Bank of the Ozarks CEO George Gleason is the keynote speaker.

TO CONGRATULATE ARKANSAS'S "40 UNDER 40"

M. President, I rise today to honor and congratulate 40 of Arkansas's brightest young professionals, who were recently named to Arkansas Business' "40 Under 40" list for 2010.

These young adults represent the best of our state, and I'm proud to see them earn this recognition. I am particularly proud to see one of my own staffers on this list, Little Rock native Tamika Edwards. I've seen Tamika's hard work and dedication firsthand, and I know that her work ethic is shared by all of the recipients of this prestigious honor.

These honorees now join an elite group of business and community leaders, and I look forward to working with them as they continue to grow in their careers.

I also commend the editors and readers of Arkansas Business for choosing to highlight these young individuals and their efforts for our state.
