Don Tyson, Wal-Mart's Douglas McMillon to Speak at UA Graduation

Graduation this spring at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville will feature two prominent names in Arkansas business.

Tyson Foods founder Don Tyson of Springdale and Douglas McMillon, president and CEO of international operations for Wal-Mart, will be among the commencement speakers next month.

Tyson will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree and speak at the All-University Commencement on Saturday, May 8.

McMillon, a Jonesboro native who received his BA from the University, will speak at the commencement of the Sam Walton College of Business at 12:30 p.m. on May 8 from Barnhill Arena.

Tyson is being recognized for building Tyson Foods into the country's largest protein producer and for his many philanthropic endeavors. McMillon began his Wal-Mart career as an hourly associate in a Wal-Mart distribution center while he worked his way through college.
