Cinemark to Replace Cinema 6 with New 12-screen Theater in Conway

Cinemark Holdings Inc. said Thursday that will open a 12-screen movie theater at the Conway Town Centre in Conway. 

The new Cinemark 12 will be located at 201 Highway 65 North at Interstate 40. The company expects to open it in the fall. 

The Cinemark 12 will replace the Cinema 6 theatre, which closed Feb. 21. The new theater promises full stadium seating and digital projection.

"This city has been home to our Cinema 6 for many years and Cinemark is excited to build a new state-of-the-art movie theatre for our guests in this community," Alan Stock, Cinemark CEO, said in a news release.

"We'll be tripling the size of the theatre and have the ability to serve twice as many customers. Additionally, this theatre will feature a Cinemark XD: Extreme Digital Cinema auditorium."

VCC of Little Rock will handle construction of the theater. Flake & Kelley Commercial of Little Rock is property manager of the the Conway Town Centre.

The companies will break ground on the theater at 11 a.m. March 23.
