Only 3 Arkansas Stocks Up Since October 2007

Only three Arkansas-based publicly traded companies show gains since Oct. 10, 2007: Wal-Mart Stores, America's Car-Mart and Home Bancshares.

  • America's Car-Mart Inc. of Bentonville (NasdaqGS: CRMT): Up 22 percent
  • Home Bancshares of Conway (Nasdaq: HOMB): Up 13 percent
  • Wal-Mart Stores Inc. of Bentonville (NYSE: WMT): Up 9.4 percent
The rest of Arkansas' publicly traded companies have seen share prices dip since that date in 2007, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average was trading near an all-time high.
  • Equity Media Holding Corp. of Little Rock (NasdaqCM: EMDA): Down 83.7 percent
  • Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies Inc. of Springdale (NasdaqCM: AERT): Down 75 percent
  • First Federal Bancshares of Harrison (Nasdaq: FFBH): Down 63.6 percent
  • Dillard's Inc. of Little Rock (NYSE: DDS): Down 61.9 percent
  • Acxiom Corp. of Little Rock (NasdaqGS: ACXM): Down 48.4 percent
  • Baldor Electric Co. of Fort Smith (NYSE: BEZ): Down 48 percent
  • P.A.M. Transportation Services Inc. of Tontitown (NasdaqGS: PTSI): Down 44.3 percent
  • ThermoEnergy Corp. of Little Rock: Down 44 percent
  • Tyson Foods Inc. of Springdale (NYSE: TSN): Down 42.4 percent
  • Windstream Corp. of Little Rock (NYSE: WIN): Down 40.7 percent
  • Murphy Oil Corp. of El Dorado (NYSE: MUR): Down 32.3 percent
  • Bank of the Ozarks of Little Rock (Nasdaq: OZRK): Down 28.8 percent
  • Arkansas Best Corp. of Fort Smith (NasdaqGS: ABFS): Down 14.9 percent
  • Deltic Timber Corp. of El Dorado (NYSE: DEL): Down 14.9 percent
  • Simmons First National Corp. of Pine Bluff (Nasdaq: SFNC): Down 6 percent
  • USA Truck Inc. of Van Buren (NasdaqGS: USAK): Down 4.6 percent
