Keets to Serve Greek in Little Rock

A new Greek restaurant, Taziki's Greek Fare, is headed for the Cantrell Heights Shopping Center near Arkansas Rod & Reel around Aug. 1.

Amy and Keith Richards (not that one) started Taziki's in Alabama and are now pursuing their first franchise. Jim Keet and his sons, Tommy and Jake, are the Little Rock franchisees.

The Keets are poised to start renovating the two-story former Arkansas Rod & Reel location. The second floor of the 3,000-SF facility will be used for the 85-seat dining area, and the ground floor will be a prep kitchen, Tommy Keet said. The team is also looking to build a 500-SF rear deck to accommodate an extra 30 seats.

But Little Rock is only a jumping-off point. The Keets have exclusive franchise rights to all of Arkansas and Missouri. Tommy Keet said they would mature the central Arkansas market before moving northwest and elsewhere in the state.

The Keets are considering expanding to the Promenade at Chenal and the new Park Avenue development on University Avenue.

Taziki's is another of the "fast-casual" style of restaurants that have been growing in popularity as consumers trade down from more expensive full-service restaurants. A menu can be found at The restaurant also caters.
