Family Works to Spread Word About Missing CFO John Glasgow

Volunteer search and rescue teams from Madison and Yell counties continue to search Petit Jean State Park for missing Little Rock executive John Glasgow.

While volunteer search and rescue teams from Madison and Yell counties continue to search Petit Jean State Park, the family of missing Little Rock executive John Glasgow planned to buy an advertisement to get his photo in the state's largest-circulation newspaper.

Glasgow's brother, Little Rock lawyer Roger Glasgow, told ArkansasBusiness.com on Sunday morning that no more volunteer searchers were needed at Petit Jean, where John Glasgow's car was found on Tuesday. He had been reported missing on Monday.

Coworkers from CDI Contractors of Little Rock, where Glasgow, 45, has been chief financial officer for 12 years, were "embedded" with the trained search teams, Roger Glasgow said. And KATV, Channel 7, where John Glasgow's wife Melinda Glasgow formerly worked, had offered the use of its helicopter.

Some 500 handbills bearing Glasgow's picture and other information were circulated around north-central Arkansas on Saturday, Roger Glasgow said, and more were being printed. Many were circulating the flyers via e-mail.

While ArkansasBusiness.com, radio stations KARN and KUAR, and the Little Rock network television affiliates have all reported on Glasgow's disappearance, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has had nothing in its pages since the news broke on Thursday. (Two Associated Press stories based primarily on ArkansasBusiness.com coverage have appeared on the Democrat-Gazette's Web site.)

Roger Glasgow said he had been interviewed by a Democrat-Gazette reporter who later told him that an editorial decision had been made not to publish anything about the search for his brother.

"We're going to run an ad in the Democrat-Gazette just to get his picture in there," Roger Glasgow said.

A spokesman for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette had not yet returned calls for comment early Sunday.
