Acxiom Buyout: Who Did the Deal

CEO Charles Morgan noted that a special committee of four independent board directors managed deliberations on the sale. Those members are:

William T. Dillard II
CEO, Dillard's Inc. of Little Rock
Elected: 1998
Morgan joked that Dillard's full-time job lately has been the Acxiom-ValueAct/Silver Lake deal. Don't tell Dillard's shareholders, he said

Dr. Mary Good
Dean, College of Information Science and Systems Engineering at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock
Elected: 2004
One of two women on Acxiom's board, she is widely respected for her work leading UALR's CyberCollege

R. Halsey Wise
President and CEO of Intergraph of Huntsville, Ala.
Elected: 2006
One of the newest members, he was handpicked by Jeffrey Ubben to join the board, part of Ubben's 2006 deal with Acxiom to end the proxy fight

Michael Durham
President and CEO of Cognizant Associates Inc. of Dallas
Elected: 2006
Durham was chairman of the committee. Incidentally, he's also the non-executive chairman of the board of Asbury Automotive Group Inc., to which fellow Acxiom director Thomas F. "Mack" McLarty III is also connected
