Dillard's Same-store Sales Down 9 Percent

Dillard's Inc. of Little Rock said February sales were $594.1 million, compared to $644.3 million for the year-ago period. Total sales decreased 8 percent for the four-week period while sales in comparable stores fell 9 percent.
Wall Street analysts had expected a 1.2 percent decline in same-store sales.
The decline was the biggest same-store sales drop since March 2005, when the department store chain recorded an 8 percent drop.
February sales were above the average in the east, slightly above trend in the west region and below trend in the central region.
Sales of lingerie and accessories, shoes and furniture were significantly above average sales performance for the period while children's apparel, men's apparel and decorative home merchandise were significantly below trend.
Shares of Dillard's (NYSE: DDS) were trading at $32.30 on Thursday after closing at $31.99 on Wednesday.
