French Firm Buys Superior Industries Plant at Heber Springs

Saint Jean Industries of Belleville, France, has bought Superior Industries International Inc.'s suspension components business at Heber Springs.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
The plant manufactures aluminum suspension components for original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers. The primary manufacturing process is the Cobapress process that has been under license from Saint Jean Industries.
The Heber Springs facility has more than 295,000 SF and about 300 employees.
Emile T. Di Serio, president and chief executive officer, said, "I am pleased with the acquisition in both terms of the quality of the workforce and the location in central Arkansas as a good place for precision, high tech manufacturing. This plant is a good addition to the company to meet our global and North-American strategic objectives. This U.S. facility will be fully supported by both product engineering and worldwide marketing."
Saint Jean Industries supplies aluminum transportation components primarily in Europe produced by both permanent mold casting and the Cobapress forging technology. Its Web site is www.st-ji.com.
